As a socially responsible corporate citizen who cares about the Jamaican environment, Tropical Battery has an on-going collection and export program for used lead acid batteries. Collection of used batteries is done island wide weekly. Once batteries are collected, they are packed according to National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA) guidelines and shipped to countries, who are signatories of the Basil Convention, where the batteries are smelted. Over 85% of a lead acid battery’s components can be recycled.
